Data Cabling
Practical Networking cover a wide variety of Data Cabling solutions in almost any environment.
We provide a full end to end service starting with a Free Survey and Consultation. Our aim is for you to have a single point of contact from the initial enquiry through to the handover and post install cover and support.
We support the design and specification process of the Structured Cabling network, working alone or with the primary M&E contractor as required. We are able to provide detailed drawings in any form including AutoDesk.
We do not subcontract and any works will be carried out by Practical Networking employees which is part of the Practical Audio Visual group of businesses.
We can tailor the quotation and works to suit requirements and budget with a basic Cat 5/Cat 6 network through to a Cat 7 certified network with full certification using the latest Fluke Networks technology.

Fibre Optics
Practical Networking is able to offer Fibre Optic services as required. Whether linking existing buildings on campus, a new trunk main or simply a link between floors.
Fibre Optic cabling generally forms the backbone of any large data and structured cabling network. It is used for carrying a large volume of data over great distances without the limitations of copper (around 80m to 90m). Fibre optic cabling is also very secure and has exceptional longevity.
Practical Networking can offer Fibre Optic cable runs to any length through existing containment and routes or as part of a new build and new route. We have experience linking communication cabinets across large campus sites including schools, offices and public buildings.
As part of our offering we are able to supply and install a range of pre-terminated fibre optic cable, fibre optic patch leads, fibre optic pigtails, fibre optic cable, wall boxes, patch panels, enclosures, media converters, connectors, adaptors, attenuators, fibre containment, external fibre optic enclosures, cable management and testing and measurement.
Trenching
Practical Networking are able to provide
a full suite of services to facilitate a high speed functional campus network.
This includes external cabling up to and including trenching.
With our partners we are able to offer Fibre
Optic links between buildings to ensure the backbone of your network is running
to its full potential.
Network Appraisal and Network Cabinets
Practical Networking have been to many sites where the Network Cabinet is unusable, data speeds are slow and the cabling is damaged or out of date.
We offer a consultancy service whereby we visit your site and engage as little or as much as required to assess current network performance and offer levels of step change improvement depending on the desired results and budget.
The level of assessment can be as detailed as a full Fluke Test or a visual inspection to identify the likely age and potential data speeds of your existing network.
Over time the Communications Room can become a hinderance on the usability and flexibility of the Network. We aim to make sure this isn’t a terminal problem.
